WEXVR
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND MINORS
Why we wrote this
WEXVR is a paid immersive video service for Meta Quest headsets. It is not made for children. We wrote this short notice in plain language so that parents, legal guardians, and any minor who happens to use the Service can quickly understand who we are, what we do, what data we use, and how to ask us a question.
This document is a plain-language companion to our full Privacy Notice. The full Privacy Notice is the legally controlling document. If something here is shorter or simpler than the Privacy Notice, the Privacy Notice prevails.
Who we are
White Exchange S.r.l. (WHTEXCH) is an Italian company (Via Durini 25, 20122 Milan, Italy) that operates the WEXVR service. You can reach our Data Protection Officer, Francesca Valenti, at dpo@whtexch.com. For general questions: support@wexvr.com.
Who can use WEXVR
WEXVR is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. Some countries (including some EU Member States) require a higher age — for example 14, 15, or 16 — and that higher local age applies.
Meta Quest headsets and the Meta Horizon ecosystem also have their own age rules. Both sets of rules apply: a person can only use WEXVR if they meet our age rule and the relevant Meta age rule.
WEXVR is not designed for children under 13 and is not a child-directed service under U.S. COPPA.
Buying access to a WEXVR title requires a valid payment method and the legal capacity to enter into a contract under the law of the user’s country. Where a minor cannot legally enter into the contract or use a payment method, an adult parent or legal guardian must complete the purchase and accept the WEXVR Terms on the minor’s behalf.
What this means in practice
If you are a parent or guardian and you allow a minor to use a Meta Quest headset that you own or share, you are responsible for supervising that use, configuring household and parental controls available on the Meta device, and choosing age-appropriate Content.
Even though WEXVR is not for under-13s, we know that minors may sometimes use Meta Quest headsets in a household. We do not knowingly allow under-13 users to register or buy on WEXVR. If we learn that a child under the applicable minimum age is using WEXVR, we will close the account and delete the personal data we are not legally required to keep.
What information we use
If a person registers and buys on WEXVR, we typically use:
their email address and an age confirmation;
transaction information (which titles were purchased, view counts used, refund or dispute status). Full payment-card data is handled by Stripe and not visible to us in our normal databases;
technical information about the Meta Quest headset, app version, language, and country, so that we can deliver the access purchased and prevent fraud;
information from any complaint, report, or support message.
We do not use this information for marketing, advertising, profiling, or to train artificial intelligence systems.
Children’s data — special rules we follow
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the higher local age that applies). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please write to dpo@whtexch.com so we can review and, if needed, delete it.
If a child has used WEXVR through a parent’s or guardian’s account or through a Meta Quest headset belonging to an adult, the personal data is treated as the adult account holder’s data, and that adult is the contracting party for any purchase.
We do not sell or share personal data for advertising. Where U.S. state law applies, we do not knowingly sell or share personal data of users we know to be under 16 without the opt-in required by law.
Where the U.K. Age-Appropriate Design Code or the Italian Garante guidance for minors and digital services applies, we apply the relevant safeguards (no profile-based advertising, data minimisation, transparency, no nudging into lower-protection settings).
How parents and guardians can help
Set up the Meta Quest headset and the relevant Meta accounts using your own credentials and supervise their use.
Use the parental and household controls available in the Meta Horizon ecosystem.
Choose age-appropriate Content and check the title’s age rating, scheduling window, and viewing conditions before purchase.
Keep the payment method secure and check periodically that no minor has made unauthorised purchases.
Talk with your children about online safety and report anything that worries you to support@wexvr.com or to the relevant authority.
If something goes wrong
Examples of situations where we would like to hear from you:
you believe a child under 13 (or under the higher local age) has registered or purchased on WEXVR;
you suspect that a minor has been exposed to harmful or illegal content;
you wish to ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data of a minor in your care;
you wish to revoke a purchase made by a minor without your authorisation.
Please contact dpo@whtexch.com or support@wexvr.com. We respond as soon as reasonably possible and within the time limits required by applicable law.
